The global “pandemic” and associated lock downs and mandates forced on us by the NZ government meant we spent time looking at what we had achieved, where we were going and what we wanted from life. Additionally, we were in the process of building a new home at this time and living in a 19.5m2 cabin while the project stopped, started, stuttered to completion.
This time led us to realise firstly that we could live together in a confined space so no longer had a need, or wish, for a large home, secondly that we wanted to focus on travel and thirdly, and possibly most importantly, that while we had the health that allowed us to do so we needed to grab life by the neck and live it. We were fortunate to have had a trip to the UK a few months prior to Covid and the travelling bug had well and truly been reawakened.
